You’ve tried everything you can think of: eating well, regular exercise, getting sleep, you’ve even had your hormone levels checked and you still can’t lose weight…..perhaps your weight gain or inability to lose weight isn’t on a physical level. Maybe, it’s on an emotional one.
Some people are emotional eaters. They will eat instead of feel their emotions. Sometimes, it’s not what you’re eating but what’s eating you. Observe your eating patterns, do you only eat when you are hungry or do you eat also when you are bored, stressed or there’s an emotional upset in your life.
Others, are emotional protectors. They don’t feel safe for some reason and eat to get bigger so they literally put more space between themselves and others. Do you feel safe and secure? Did you have a past incident where you did not feel protected?
There are even people who are able to lose weight and then once they start to get noticed or complemented by family and friends, start to put weight back on again. THey may not want to be in the spotlight or have a fear of success.
Whatever the case, if you are having trouble losing weight after trying physical avenues, explore the emotional ones. For more info or to see how we can help, visit our website www.neuro-optimization.com
Courage is the ability to do something that you fear. It’s strength in the face of pain or grief. It also sucks.
Courage has been touted as something positive, something we want to strive to achieve. In the moment though, courage sucks. It’s not fun to stand up to your fears. It’s terrifying.
Who wants to speak in front of a crowd when they are scared of public speaking? Growth isn’t fun!
So why do it? Why be courageous?
Because it’s worth it.
After we stand our stand, say what we have to say, it’s hard in the moment but then something special happens. You face your fear over again and again and then one day, it doesn’t suck so much anymore. You are happy to finally speak your voice and perhaps one day, you may even enjoy it.
Don’t be illusioned that courage is easy. It’s not. It takes everything you’ve got. Every ounce of you, physically, emotionally, mentally and even spiritually. You could be facing the battle of your life!
What happens if you chose to run away instead? That too is a choice. You don’t get the opportunity to learn and grow this the situation. If you don’t learn, it’ll keep coming back until you do. You also shrink your world a little. Imagine if the first time you took a step and fell down, you gave up and didn’t take the next step, you’d never learn to walk.
What if you didn’t speak up when you knew your should? You would not be able to take a stand for yourself, for others or share your special and unique message with the world.
Courage sucks….but it’s worth it.

Two months ago, I did an experiment to take a social media break. I had been noticing that the negative outside world had been starting to infiltrate my inner bubble....more than usual. I decided to monitor my sources of information and discovered that my outside influences had been given too much of my attention. I had been on social media too often, watching too much tv and listening to the news and radio. My sources of information had started to weigh me down.
This lead be to a 1 week news detox.
On my week off of media, I’ve decided to stop social media for 1 week, turn off the radio when driving in the car and going out for walks instead of watching tv. I committed to reading more, listening to podcasts that fuel my dream and taking time to call and reconnect with those who are close to me. Most importantly, reconnect to Me!
As soon as I made the decision, I felt much better.
Here’s what I learned from my week off:

There are times when it may be better to say yes to something right away before you get a chance to say no. The instance I’m talking about is when you are aiming to do something that scares you.
Earlier today, I was asked if I wanted to do a live webinar with a friend of mine. I said yes right away, even though, it’s something that scares me. I know it’s an avenue that I wanted to get into because my patients have been asking for online webinars yet I’ve been avoiding because it takes me out of my comfort zone. It’s easier for me to get up in front of a crowd and do a live seminar than do something online.
This was not always the case.....
There was once a time when doing live seminars terrified me and I only got over that fear when one year, I scheduled myself to do a live seminar every two weeks for the entire year. At first, I was wishing no one would show up to my seminars. As I got more comfortable, they started to get easier. Soon, I could do my beginner workshop without preparation and eventually, I began to enjoy doing seminars.
Now that seminars are in my comfort zone, I have expanded to doing them in French which once against puts me in the uncomfortable arena...until one day it doesn't.
Sometimes, when you know something is a little outside of your comfort zone, you say yes to it before you talk yourself out of it.
It’s a yes to growth, a yes to opportunity and a yes to life. Your life will expand to the proportion that you do.
