"I am not what I think I am, and I am not what you think I am. I am what I think you think I am." -Charles Horton Cooley
Who we think we are is wrapped up in what we think other people think of us.
So, I asked myself, who am I? Am I my roles (chiropractor, mother, wife, friend, etc.)? Am I my values? Am I none of these?
I'm not sure. But what I do know, is that I may not be seeing myself clearly. So, it's time to do a cleanse.
I've been wanting to do one for the past couple of months and I wasn't sure when to start. When it was announced that our province will enter into another 28 day lock down, I decided, the best time is now. I want to exit the lock down a different person then when I entered it.
My cleanses usually involve improving my diet, getting rid of junk food, turning off social media, stop listening to the news, take better care of myself, etc. but this time, the cleanse needs to go deeper.
I need to go to the root cause. My fears and my intentions.
When I eat junk food, I want to know the intention behind it. Remember, it's not what you are eating, it's what's eating you.
When I choose to react to a situation in anger, what in my life is feeling threatened?
When I fear something, what am I afraid to lose?
For 28 days, my goal for my cleanse is to get to the root cause of my intentions. If I can change my intentions, I can change my habits and actions. If I change my actions, i change my life. Then I effect the lives of those who are with me, around me and eventually the world.
I challenge you to join me. Choose to do one thing for the next 28 days to change your life. It doesn't have to be big. Just commit to doing it for 28 days.
