In any circumstance that we are presented with in life, we have a choice of courage or fear. A few weeks ago, I had heard some great news but all I could focus on were the things that could possibly go wrong. Have you ever experienced that before? Perhaps you were offered a new job and were excited at first and then thought about a new work environment, the new drive to work, the new people, how you would exit your current place of employment, etc. You may even have decided that your current job isn’t so bad after all and questioned why you decided to apply for new jobs in the first place. This is simply a trick of the mind. Our mind seeks comfort. Comfort is easy, predictable and there are no surprises. The reason that it’s a trick is because growth doesn’t happen in your comfort zone. Growth can only occur out of it. Looking back a previous times of growth in your life, you may notice that they were first caused by a period of uncertainty. Perhaps you lost a job before you found a new one. Or you got sick and growth from your illness. When you growth, you can no longer go back to the person that you were before. Perhaps that’s why growth is so scary for people. In any circumstance, you can choose courage or growth. Remember that FEAR can equal 2 things: Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise! Having difficulty stepping outside of your comfort zone? Come to one of our monthly workshops. 613-761-1600 to RSVP
